Reflexology Lymph Drainage


Reflexology Lymph Drainage is an award winning reflexology technique, researched and developed by Sally Kay in the UK, whilst working in Cancer Care. The treatment focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet which in turn encourages the lymphatic system to work in the body. It is a wonderfully relaxing treatment which helps to bring relief to those suffering with Lymphoedema and Lipoedema.

What is Lymphoedema ?


Lymphoedema is a long-term (chronic) condition which causes swelling especially in the arms or legs but can also occur in the chest wall, abdomen, neck and genitals. It develops when the lymph vessels are not able to adequately drain lymph fluid in the affected area, causing it to build up.

Common Causes of Lymphoedema


The most common causes of lymphoedema are from cancer itself and also from cancer surgery and radiation,

It is also a condition that can be inherited, but this is rare.

What is Lipoedema ?

Lipoedema is the abnormal accumulation of fat in the legs, thighs, buttocks and sometimes the arms which can lead to problems with joints and mobility.
The cause is unknown but it is thought to be linked to hormones.
